Sour Cream Banana Bread with
Chocolate, Walnut & Sour Cream Glaze

1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 banana, coarsely mashed
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease 2 6x3-inch foil loaf pans. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, beat together first 5 ingredients until mixture is blended. Add the next 3 ingredients all at once, and beat until blended. Do not overbeat. Stir in the banana, chocolate and walnuts.

Divide mixture between 2 greased 6x3-inch loaf pans. Place pans on a cookie sheet and bake in a 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until a cake tester, inserted in center, comes out clean. Allow to cool in pans for 10 minutes, and then remove from pans and continue cooling on a rack. Brush tops lightly with Sour Cream Glaze. Yields 2 loaves.

Sour Cream Glaze:
1 tablespoon sour cream
1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons finely chopped walnuts

Stir together all the ingredients until blended.

Note:- Bread freezes beautifully. Wrap in double thicknesses of plastic wrap and then foil. Remove wrappers while defrosting.
