

1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 cup unsweetened wheat germ
1 tablespoon baking powder
6 tablespoons cold margarine, cut into 6
pieces
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
In the bowl of a food processor, mix first 3 ingredients. Add margarine, and blend, with quick on/off pulses, until margarine is the size of small peas. Add the buttermilk, and pulse again, until mixture is blended. Pulse in the onion and poppy seeds. Do not overmix.
Drop biscuits by rounded tablespoonful on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 450° for 15 minutes, or until tops are flecked with brown. Yields 20 biscuits.
Note:- As these are made with whole wheat flour and wheat germ, biscuits are dark and appear browned. Bake for the full amount of time.
