This is a grand dining experience and one of the best dinners
ever. It is a long dinner, but not heavy. From the very beginning,
delicious stuffed mushrooms herald the good things to come. The
salad is small, but is an attractive blaze of color (and flavor.)
The linguini course can be omitted, but I hope you don't.
Timing is important for the lamb. Place it in the oven 50 minutes
before you are planning to serve it and remove it from the oven
when it registers 140° (rare). By the time it is carved at
the table, it will be medium rare. The chicken requires less attention,
can be prepared earlier in the day and reheated at serving time
(but please don't overheat it or it will toughen up.)
The potatoes and vegetables are gorgeous when served attractively
on a large platter with their beautiful colors and fragrance.
Roasted potatoes are enjoyed by all. The Lemon Cheesecake accented
with raspberries and white chocolate is the perfect ending to
this meal.
