Old-Fashioned Tea Bread with Walnuts & Raisins

1 egg
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons melted butter

3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar

1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins

Beat together egg, milk and butter. Stir in the dry ingredients only until they are moistened. Stir in the nuts and raisins. Pour mixture into a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan that has been greased and floured.

Bake in a 350° oven for about 50 minutes to 1 hour or until cake tester, inserted in center, comes out clean. Yields 1 loaf.
