Basic Fruit Juice Ices (42), 232

Practically any unsweetened juice can be made into an ice for a nutritious and low-calorie dessert. I would suggest you invest in an electric ice cream maker so that you can prepare these lovely, pure ices at any time. Using an ice cream maker produces a smoother ice. The addition of 1 or 2 tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice adds a little character to the ice.

2 cups fresh fruit juice (orange, tangerine, pineapple, apricot or any
combination)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

Stir together fruit juice and optional lemon juice and sugar and allow to stand until sugar is dissolved. Freeze in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions. Serves 6.
(About 42 calories per serving-using 1 tablespoon sugar)
