French Orange Toast with Country Orange Marmalade

8 1-inch slices French bread

3 eggs
1 cup cream or half and half
2 tablespoons grated orange zest (orange part of the peel)
1/4 cup cinnamon sugar

Country Orange Marmalade

In a 9x13-inch pan, place bread slices in one layer. Beat together eggs, orange juice, cream and cinnamon sugar until blended. Pour egg mixture evenly over the bread. Allow bread to soak up egg, turning now and again until evenly moistened.

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon butter until sizzling hot. Sauté bread slices until golden brown on both sides. Use more butter as needed. Serve with Country Orange Marmalade or your favorite syrup. Serves 4.

Note: -The French toast can be baked in the oven for a slightly different effect. After the eggs are nicely soaked up, place pan in a 350° oven and bake until bread is golden and puffed. The toast will not be as tender as when sautéed on the stove.
