Chinese Barbecued Chicken Wings with Red Hot Honey Glaze

Teriyaki Marinade can be purchased in most supermarkets. However, you can make a substitute by stirring together 1/2 cup soy sauce with 1 tablespoon brown sugar.

3 pounds chicken wings, tips removed and split at the joint.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Baste lightly
with a little Teriyaki Marinade
.

Place chicken wings in one layer in a 12x16-inch baking pan and bake at 350° for 40 minutes, basting now and again with the juices in the pan. Baste chicken with Red Hot Honey Glaze, return to oven, and continue baking for 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes, until chicken is tender and nicely browned.

Red Hot Honey Glaze:
1 cup good quality barbecue sauce
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon teriyaki marinade
2 tablepsoons vinegar
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more to taste)

In a glass jar, combine all the ingredients for Red Hot Honey Glaze and stir until blended. Leftover glaze can be stored in the refrigerator for weeks and used on roast chicken or pork. Yields 1 2/3 cups glaze.
