
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chopped dates
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Beat together butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Beat in eggs until blended. Stir in flour, soda and salt until blended. Stir in dates and walnuts. Spread dough on a greased 10x15-inch pan and bake in a 375° oven for about 20 to 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Cut into squares when cool.
