Country French Glazed Apple Tart

Crust:
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
4 ounces cream cheese (1/2 of an 8-ounce package)

1 cup flour
4 heaping tablespoons sifted powder sugar
Filling:
1/2 cup apricot jam, warmed

4 apples, peeled, cored and cut in half vertically. Place cut ends down and cut into very thin slices
 
Beat together butter and cream cheese until blended. Beat in flour and sugar just until blended. Do not overbeat. Dough is soft. Pat dough on the bottom and 1-inch up the sides of a greased 10-inch tart pan with a removable bottom and bake in a 350-degree oven for 25 minutes or until crust is just beginning to take on color.
Paint crust with half of the apricot jam. Fan apple slices on the top to resemble 8 petals and bake in a 350-degree oven for 40 minutes. Paint top with remaining apricot jam, increase temperature to 400 degree and continue baking for 10 minutes to set glaze. Serves 12.
