Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie

The is a variation of the classic chocolate chip cookie made into a pie. We tasted one several years ago, but the restaurant wouldn't share the recipe. The following recipe will produce a pie, very similar in taste and texture, to the one we enjoyed years ago. This is rich, so keep the portions small.

1 9-inch deep-dish frozen pie shell. Place shell on a cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 7 minutes or until crust is set.

Filling:
2 eggs
1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick)
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Prepare pie shell and leave it on the cookie sheet. Beat together first 7 filling ingredients until blended. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Pour mixture into prepared pie shell and bake at 325° for about 1 hour or until top is browned. If the edges start to darken place a sheet of aluminum foil loosely on top. Serves 10.
